April Fools Madness ;)

Hey guys! Instead of the usual FanFic, this weeks post is all about April Fools >:) Every year, on the first of April (or the 32nd of March according to many) my house turns into a War Zone covered in toilet paper, food dye, traps, fake puke, plastic wrap, and more. My brothers and I work our hardest to prank our parents, and they prank us right back. Here is a list of the pranks we've used over the years which you may find helpful for next year:

  • Mac'n Cheese OJ: Use the orange cheese powder from Kraft Mac'n Cheese to make "Orange Juice"
  • Air horn office chair: Tape an air horn just under the seat of an unsuspecting colleague's chair so that when they sit on it it will be set off
  • Mouse troll: Print a small internet troll face and tape it to the bottom of a friend's computer mouse. When they try to move it, the sensor on the bottom will be covered so it will not work
  • One Shoe: Take one shoe from every pair of shoes a friend owns\
  • Shower Dye: Unscrew a friends shower head and tip several drops of food dye into it.
  • Nail-polish soap: Paint a bar of soap with clear nail polish so that it is no longer usable
  • Brownies: Cut out several letter "E"s from brown construction paper and place them in a brownie pan. Tell people you've made brownies then laugh at their disappointment
  • Fishing for Money: Tie an invisible fishing line to a 10 dollar bill. Place it in a busy street and hide around a corner. When someone bends over to get it, pull the line so that it jerks away from them
  • Roar Contest: Make a flyer telling people to call and leave their "roar" on a friends answering machine without telling the friend
  • "Ice Cream": Make ice cream out of mashed potatoes and gravy in a sundae cup and laugh at a friends disappointment
  • Credit fraud: Make a professional sounding email account using Gmail and send an email to a friend saying that over $1,000 has been spent on their credit card by someone else
Thats all for now, comment your own suggestions below ;)

Divergent Nails!!!

Hey guys! This weeks theme is Divergent! I did a faction and book inspired nail design. I decided to paint the 3 factions that are most like me on my pinky, third, and pointer finger. Then on my thumb I wrote a character from the book/movie, and on my ring finger, I painted the skyline on the cover of the books.
To make this manicure, I used (left to right):
  • Dating a Royal- OPI
  • Light blue- Claire's
  • Mellow Yellow- Sally Hansen
  • Black striper- Kiss Nail Art
  • White striper- Kiss Nail Art
  • White- KleanColor
  • Base Coat- Sinful Colors
  • Top coat- Wet n Wild
I also used a small and large dotting tool and a tiny nail brush. (you can use a toothpick if you don't have a dotting tool)

First, start off with a base coat, then paint 2 layers of white. Next, dip a q-tip in blue polish and dab it onto the top half of the nail. Then dip a q-tip into yellow polish and dab it under the blue polish. Make sure to dab a bit of it on top of the blue while the blue is still wet to create that blended effect. Make sure the white is completely dry before adding the blue or yellow.

To make the buildings, use a black striper and draw the rectangle outlines of the buildings, make sure to make the buildings varied in height so it does not look like one longs strip of black. Color in the outline of the buildings using the striper. Then dip the small dotting tool into white polish and make about 5 tiny stars. Also use the small dotting tool to make yellow dots on the buildings. Next, draw a circle on 3 nails with the tiny nail brush. You can also go over it with a black striper to make it bolder. We will start of with erudite. To make the eye, you might want to practice on a piece of paper. Draw a "u" close to the bottom of the circle, then draw a slightly bigger and thicker arch on top of the "u" that connects them with a black striper. Then use a big dotting tool and make a black dot in the outline of the eye. Next, use a small dotting tool, and make a small white dot int eh right corner of the bigger black dot. Now to add a bit of an erudite touch to it, outline to "u" in light blue polish with the tiny nails brush.

For the Dauntless flames, start of with drawing a small flame to the right of the circle, slanting inward. Next draw a bigger flame in the middle of the circle pointing down, and then draw another flame to the left of the circle pointing inward. Then add a last flame between the mid flame and the left flame. If you want, add a few random small lines around the flames in the circle with a black striper. Next is Amity, start by drawing a slanted trunk about one third up the circle. Then draw 4 branches, two flat and two sticking upward. Next add one or two mini branches off of each branch, these can serve as branches or leaves, depending on how big you make them. And finally the thumb nail. You can pick any character you want to, I just chose Tris because she's the easiest to write. It help to make strait lines if you use the tip of the striper. To make the curve of the R, I curved my nail and kept the striper stationary.

Almost done! I touched it up a bit. I filled in some white in the S of Tris and I added white to the middle of the dauntless flames and amity leaves with a striper. Once done, add a clear coat and your done!!!

I hope you have fun making this design! Feel free to ask questions and give suggestions in the comment box!
